Hump magnets are designed to handle gravity, moderate positive, and negative pressures.

The hump magnet’s angled shape directs product flow into the magnetic field, and helps to prevent build up and bridging. Additionally, the design of a hump magnet assists in slowing material down, as it forces the material to move through the hump in a zig zag pattern.

Hump magnets handle many materials that can be otherwise difficult to move efficiently while still optimizing magnetic separation. These  magnets handle very fluffy products that can be compared to “cotton candy” like material, and also handle products such as long and stringy potato shreds, plastic flooring regrind, and fibrous materials. By breaking up clumps of product, these magnets provide increased protection against entrapped ferrous debris. By combining a design that liberates trapped material with powerful magnets, Bunting hump magnets are able to remove the greatest amount of ferrous debris from product that has a tendency to harbor hidden contamination.

Bunting’s half-hump magnet has the same basic design as a traditional hump magnet, but are constructed in a half-hump design that allows them to fit in areas with height restrictions that prohibit installation of a standard hump magnet. Like its larger version, the half-hump housing directs material flow over the single high-strength permanent magnet and breaks up aggregated material to dislodge and capture embedded metal contaminants.
